Martin Turner

I've worked in digital for more than twenty years, with experience spanning technology, data, marketing, and business transformation. Today, I run Stockley & Turner, a digital marketing agency focused on helping organisations make better use of digital channels.

My interest in technology began during the early public years of the World Wide Web. I built my first web pages in the mid-1990s and assembled my first computer in 1997, when RAM was often priced by the megabyte and a home internet connection was something to be planned around. What began as a technical curiosity gradually developed into a career.

Early work focused on helping local businesses establish an online presence, at a time when many were building their first websites and exploring digital communication for the first time. As the internet matured, so did the role technology played within organisations. My focus expanded from building and implementing solutions to understanding how people used them, how behaviour could be measured, and how digital channels could support wider business objectives.

Over time this evolved into roles spanning digital activation, strategy, and transformation within larger organisations. Throughout that journey, the underlying themes have remained remarkably consistent: understanding systems, measuring impact, and using evidence to inform change.

This website is a place to share some of that experience. The content covers technical, data, and marketing topics, alongside observations on how the web has evolved and the influence it continues to have on business, society, and everyday life.
